Paris, France / United States — Five documentary films produced under the Documentary Film Fund and Heritage Film Project will be represented at the upcoming Marché du Film at the Cannes Film Festival, one of the world’s most important international film markets.

The films—Black Fiddlers, Daniel Chester French: American Sculptor, The Piccirilli Factor, and The Art of Joy Brown—will be presented to international buyers, broadcasters, cultural institutions, and educational platforms by Paris-based sales agency C & Co.

This marks a significant step in expanding the international reach of these works, furthering the mission of the Documentary Film Fund: to bring the richness and diversity of American arts and cultural history to global audiences through engaging and educational documentary filmmaking.

“These films were conceived as part of a long-term effort to contribute to a broader understanding of American cultural identity,” said director Eduardo Montes-Bradley. “Their presence at Cannes represents an important opportunity to share these stories internationally and to connect with audiences beyond the United States.”

Each of the selected films explores a distinct dimension of American artistic heritage:

Black Fiddlers uncovers the overlooked legacy of African American musicians in the Appalachian South

Daniel Chester French: American Sculptor examines the life and work of one of America’s most influential sculptors

The Piccirilli Factor reveals the contributions of Italian immigrant artisans behind some of the nation’s most iconic monuments

The Art of Joy Brown offers an intimate portrait of the internationally recognized ceramic sculptor

Through these titles, the Documentary Film Fund continues its unique role in supporting projects that preserve, interpret, and share the artistic and cultural narratives that shape the American experience.
