Dave Matthews Evokes Edward Thomas

Updated: 23 hours ago

I’ve been looking forward to this Sunday so I could edit another section of my recent conversations with Dave Matthews. In particular, I was interested in focusing on laying the foundation for a tribute to Edward Thomas, the quintessential Charlottesville painter who passed away on May 8, 2021, at the age of 49. Edward was a disciple of Richard Crozier, another artist I deeply admire. Edward and Dave were very close friends, and when you visit Dave, you can feel the presence of the artist—not just on the walls, but also in the way Dave recalls their friendship.
